Republican rivals’ race gets ugly

Republican presidential race turns sour

The Republican presidential race has turned ugly as the candidates elbow their way towards a crucial month of primary elections.

Adopting a sharper tone, Newt Gingrich said if rival Mitt Romney became the nominee, he would be laughed at by President Barack Obama in TV debates.

Ron Paul was forced to repudiate an ad endorsing him and suggesting Jon Huntsman had been brainwashed by China.

One of the contenders will challenge Barack Obama in November’s election.

The candidates will meet for the first televised debate of 2012 on Saturday.

Primary votes will be held this month in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida which could well shape the race for the Republican nomination.

Gingrich race row Primaries and caucuses will take place in every US state over the next few months before the eventual Republican candidate is crowned at the party convention in August.

Former Massachusetts Governor Romney, who was declared the winner of last week’s Iowa caucuses, is the overwhelming favourite to win next Tuesday’s contest in his political heartland of New Hampshire.

Two new polls released on Friday put him at about 20% above his closest rival in the small New England state, Texas Congressman Paul.

Mr Gingrich was in New Hampshire on Friday trying to breathe new life into his campaign after a disappointing fourth-place finish in Iowa.

How ugly can it get, they're all pretty ugly to start with.

Seriously, New Gingrich couldn’t breathe new life into a limp fish; so he’s basically out of the race. More proof that he doesn’t know shit: “I’m prepared, if the NAACP invites me, I’ll go to their convention and talk about why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps,” Doesn’t he realise that there are more white Americans on food stamps? Idiot!

Rick Santorum, the ultra-right wing Christian homophobe who is running for the Republican presidential nomination, and came within a moron’s brain-width of winning in the Iowa caucuses. That is a sad indictment for Americans that he should even have got another vote apart from his mothers.

As for Mitt Romney, he’s being supported by McCain, who doesn’t even know who he is supporting. Quite frankly anybody who is supported by McCain can’t be trusted. Back in 2008, McCain accused Romney of flip-flopping and not a “true” Republican – which are the same tactics being used against the frontrunner today. So nothing has changed, except McCain is sillier than ever.

Ron Paul has slammed The “Patriot” Act, Indefinite Detention Act (NDAA) and SOPA, which shows that he is the only candidate with his fingers on the pulse. These are the things that matter to the American people, the other candidates are obviously oblivious to this. Fighting against these despicable pieces of legislation are the only salvation for the American Constitution. He is the only consistent presidential candidate who has the intelligence, experience and courage to tell the truth and act on it.

That’s the way I see it.
