The Phantoms in al-Bastard’s Head

The scars of the Syrian conflict are plain to see on the streets of Homs - BBC Photo

There are no terrorists, there are no armed gangs, there are, however, Syrians fighting against al-Bastard’s tyranny. The terrorists and armed gangs are phantoms in a very sick mind.

The escalating violence in Syria after Kofi Annan’s UN -brokered ceasefire, showed that al-Bastard never had any intention of honouring a ceasefire. Indeed to have honour, you need to have a brain, something that al-Bastard has clearly demonstrated he hasn’t either.

Now we have the news that Syrian security forces have fired into Turkey, BBC News, killing and wounding people escaping into Turkey and that ‘stray’ bullets hit a refugee camp inside Turkey wounding two Syrian refugees and a Turkish translator.

I would not be surprised if Turkey did more than complain, it could well be that those shots are the first of a war. Turkey’s sovereignty has been trespassed.

China is still waffling about Syria honoring the peace treaty, and Syria’s foreign minister is rushing off to Russia to what purpose, one may well ask.

I worry about the event of an armed conflict and that Russia, along with China and Iran siding with Syria; the result could be very bloody indeed and extend well beyond the Syrian borders.

Russia, China and Iran need to let al-Bastard face the music that he alone composed.

How Futile – No Sense of Humor

Caution on Twitter urged as tourists barred from US

Post-9/11 USA is highly cautious of any perceived threat, Abta said

Holidaymakers have been warned to watch their words after two friends were refused entry to the US on security grounds after a tweet.

Before his trip, Leigh Van Bryan wrote that he was going to “destroy America”.

He insisted he was referring to simply having a good time – but was sent home.

Trade association Abta told the BBC that the case highlighted that holidaymakers should never do anything to raise “concern or suspicion in any way”.

The US Department for Homeland Security picked up Mr Bryan’s messages ahead of his holiday in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old bar manager wrote a message to a friend on the micro-blogging service, saying: “Free this week, for quick gossip/prep before I go and destroy America.”

The Irish national told the Sun newspaper that he and his friend Emily Bunting were apprehended on arrival at Los Angeles International Airport before being sent home.

“The Homeland Security agents were treating me like some kind of terrorist,” Mr Bryan said.

“I kept saying they had got the wrong meaning from my tweet.”

No joke

If this weren’t so pathetic, it’d be funny.

As soon as I read the tweet, I understood what he meant.

This is a case of Homeland Security making fools of themselves.

What a bunch of wankers!

Newt Gingrich Couldn’t run a Walmart!

I doubt he has the intelligence to tie his own shoe laces

…and he wants to run America?

The idea is laughable.

His lastest gaff calling Palestinians an “invented” people and “terrorists”. Shows that he clearly has no idea of the history of the matter.

“Remember there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman empire,” he said.

Check the history books. The first use of the name Palestine was around the 5th century and it was known by various similar names as far back as the ancient Egyptians and Rameses III c. 1150BC. Ah, and for the simple minded Gingrich, that means that Palestine existed  more than a millennium before Christ.

The similar names, mentioned above, have come about by etymological changes throughout three millennia. You do understand ‘etymology’ Gingrich; it’s what you Americans have done to English in about 500 years, imagine what American English will be like after another more than two millennia. People might even be saying that the American people are an ‘invented’ people. Hell, we already know they are terrorists.

Philistines are older than Christianity

Pilistu became Philistine, which became Palestine. Pilistu was first used by the Assyrians, a known fact, in 800BC. Aristotle (whose intelligence I prefer over the lack of the same in Gringrich) referred to Palestine in Meteorology when referring to the anomally of buoyancy in the Dead Sea, oh, when was that? Ah, yes, 350BC, still before Christ.

Modern archaeologists and historians of the region refer to their field of study as Syro-Palestinian archaeology. There is no mention of Israel there.

So, Newt Gingrich, get your facts straight before you begin frothing at the mouth like a rabid dog.

This is my response to the BBC News article today reporting Gingrich’s comments in a television interview on Friday and in a candidates’ debate on Saturday..

Here’s the punch line

in case you missed it in the Huffington Post article:

Why are you treating us like terrorists?

“The Occupy movement has remained adamant about not drafting a list of demands because terrorists make demands, and we’re not terrorists,” said Pope, a graphic design student. “We shouldn’t have to demand a democratic process.”
